The purpose of this unit is to facilitate student learning about the world in which we live. The student will pretend that he/she is going to visit a country for 5-7 days and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their chosen country. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research, books and travel brochures in order to be able to answer questions about their chosen country.

Create a logo, business card and letterhead for the business. You will have to pay attention to the design principles. Logo must be creative, be relevant and attractive, and legibile. Identify your company, use appropriate typeface and use specific lines and shapes to enhance overall presentation. Business cards must be well designed, and use the created logo.

Students create a slogan and logo for their grassroots campaign. They then write about the meaning of both.

The student is to research information about a specific historical figure, and then write and present a biography poster on this important historical figure. This biography includes information about the person's life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.
