Battle of the American Revolution
With the exception of a few groups, students will make a presentation for the class, teaching their peers about a major battle during the American Revolutionary War. Students signed up for a battle and they are expected to do a presentation on that battle for their class.

Signer of the Declaration of Independence Essay
In connection with Standard 5, objective 3 of the Utah State Social Studies curriculum, students will "evaluate the contributions of key people and groups to the Revolution" as part of this assignment. Students are expected to write a five paragraph essay on a signer of the Declaration of Independence that they signed up for, using this rubric as a guide for them to know what I will be looking for when grading it.

MAKING A MAP: CARTOGRAPHER
As the official cartographer you will use the map skills you have learned in class to create two (2) maps: A political map of your country and a physical map of your country. These maps must be hand drawn and include all of the parts of a map – TODALSIGs (see below). Maps should be drawn on nothing smaller than 8 ½” x 11” sheets of paper (it is recommended you use poster boards to create your maps). Please draw one map per sheet of paper/poster.

13 COLONY ADVERTISEMENT
I can examine the economic, political, and social patterns in the development of the 13 English colonies. Students are expected to make an advertisement to attract more people from Europe to come and settle in their colony. Follow the rubric so you know what is expected to be on your advertisement.
