Character analysis - 11th Grade American Literature - Write a seven-paragraph character analysis of a character from the play "The Crucible". Explain the character’s relationship, motivation, influences, and conflict throughout the piece. Use in-depth evidence and citations to support your explanation. In additional paragraphs, extend this element of the character and connect it to the plot. You may explain something that has happened with the character using your above analysis.

Plan: This rubric is designed to evaluate a semester ending short story that students create for a multi-grade high school (10, 11, 12) Creative Writing class. Students are expected to meet requirements that exemplify the skills learned in class to create a compelling and well-organized fictional narrative. The rubric is in regards to MLA written forms of English, as well as respecting privacy and copyright law when working with creative works meant for submission.

Final Draft of Literary Critical Essay Organizing your ideas into a critical essay, with introductory paragraph containing a thesis statement; supporting body paragraphs containing assertions, integrated examples of proof/quotations, explanation/analysis, and concluding sentence; and ending with a concluding paragraph.

Student will create a graphic novel based on one act from the play "As You Like It".

Students will create a digital or poster-like collage representing a character from the Shakespeare play "As You Like It".
