Label and describe the parts of a plant

The students will create a bulletin board for display. The board will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of a topic of their own choice . You can either create an actual bulletin board for your cooperating teacher OR you can replicate what you would do for a bulletin board on a poster board. (scale to size) Info will be presented in a creative and colorful poster.

Your flip book should have at least 8 sections. Each section should relay facts from the text book. Each flap should have the name of a planet, a picture of the planet, be colored either a warm hue to depict an inner planet or a cool hue to depict an outer planet, and under the flap there should be facts about the planet from the text.

Fifth grade ecosystem project to include key components of ecosystem.

Students will calculate the products of a multiplication number sentence using a variety of strategies. Strategies could include repeated addition, arrays, associative property, commutative property, distributive property, grouping, lattice, partial products, or any other strategies they choose to show their understanding of different multiplication strategies and how they apply them to solving a multiplication number sentence.

Area and Perimeter

Scientific Method: The student will be able to relate the steps in the Scientific Method and why and how each step is critical to the proper conduct of a scientific experiment.

This is a rubric assessing comprehension of bar graphs and assessing if graph has been designed properly. Information was gathered using a tally chart.

The student demonstrates the relationship between the letters and letter combinations of written words and the sounds of spoken words with the letters au, aw, al, and o. b. Applies knowledge of letter-sound correspondence to decode new words. c. Reads words containing consonant blends and digraphs.

4.OA.2 Multiply or divide to solve word problems involving multiplicative comparison, by using drawings and equations with a symbol for the unknown number to represent the problem Write a story for multiplication and illustrate. Students must use a multiplication buzz word.

Summative assessment

EQ: What are some healthy choices in each food group to purchase? Task: Students create a food pyramid with items in each food group. Cut and paste onto food pyramid.

Objects being compared in the Venn diagram: Poetry and Drama Comparison Paragraph

The students will select a fractional sum and create two or three fraction number sentences to find that sum.

The students have been working on all the concepts leading up to adding/subtracting fractions. Comparing fractions with unlike denominators, making equivalent fractions, simplifying fractions, and now adding/subtracting fractions

This Rubric will assess your performance in bringing together research and designing a poster depicting the routes that the explorers in your assigned nation travelled to the New World. Included in this project will be biographies of the individual explorers.
