Student will create a Chinese inspired watercolor scroll that includes at least a word or message written in Chinese calligraphy.

Student on a daily basis created a hand built bobblehead clay sculpture of an animal or creature using tools, scoring, slip in correct manner.

Students will use "Drawing Hints" to draw items one might find on a beach. The element of line will be focused on, as lines make shape, contour lines turn shapes into forms. Lines can also create texture. Basic classroom routines are being established. Basic skills like drawing , cutting, gluing, and painting will be emphasized.

Student will choose and draw a realistic or abstract subject or lizard with texture and or pattern to transfer on to a piece of heavy foil. Student will use tools and techniques to push out design and also make areas recede. If time allows, drawn frames will repeat art elements from the foil design. Coloring with permanent marker or antiquing with black ink is optional.

Student is to draw a realistic human face and body along with teacher in pencil. Student is to add details (features, hair , clothing, background , etc...) to turn it into a person or character of their choice. The drawing is to colored neatly using crayons and /or colored pencils. The student is to view it as a "picture starter" and finish it as any appropriate person or character with background. The entire page is to be colored attractively with crayons and or colored pencils.

Student was to follow directions daily to complete a painting of an abstract or realistic owl with background, and at least 3 textures or patterns.

Student will draw/etch a Cityscape at night with fireworks (Thunder Over Louisville-like)with rich texture(s)and /or pattern(s) onto a 8 1/2 x 11 scratchboard. The lines used must show visual texture and/or pattern, and the design utilize the space well.

Students will follow directions to trace and print a portrait from a photograph. A calligram , a drawing with words, will be created using names, adjectives, and quotes etc... associated with the subject.

Student will draw a seascape or coral reef, and then paint it in the Impressionistic Style (with dots, dabs, and patches of color).

Student will draw a macro drawing of a dragon's eye. Geometric and organic shapes drawn lightly will start the drawing. Additional lines and shapes lines must show visual texture and/or pattern of skin and scales. The design utilizes the entire space well. Eye will be outline with blacl marker and colored neatly with colored pencils.
