The purpose of this project is to facilitate student learning about travel to a French-speaking country. The student will pretend that he/she has a budget of $3500 to visit a minimum of 3 cities in 2 or more French-speaking countries (or French territories) for 2-5 days each and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their chosen countries. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research, books and travel brochures in order to be able to answer questions about their chosen countries' culture, government, religion, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, s/he will synthesize the information and create a comprehensive itinerary in French (French III & IV) or in English (French I & II) for the trip. This itinerary will then be presented to the class. French I & II will need to memorize 5-10 basic French sentences for the presentation as well.

You are creating restaurant for a new restaurant in France. You must give your restaurant a name (in French) create the menu entirely in French, and create a virtual restaurant using Google Sketchup, or something similar. Your restaurant must have a dialogue of french speaking customers and visuals of labeled French food.

You and your classmates will be taking a trip to an assigned French speaking country. Like any good tourist, you must prepare yourself before you visit in order to get the most from your trip! You will need to research on your country to learn about their culture, weather & climate, currency of the country, religion, foods, housing, famous landmarks and government.

You are building your dream home! You will design a home with at least 2 floors and 5 labeled rooms on a piece of graph paper. You may include more than 1 bedroom but only 1 is counted toward the requirement. The assignment begins with drawing your dream house floor plan and labeling it in Spanish. The first part will require you to use the computer to design in detail with at least five rooms and two floors that simulates your dream home. Include floor coverings, walls, appliances, furniture, windows, stairways, doorways all labeled in Spanish. You may also include pets and/or family members doing chores. The final story board should have a minimum of 5 written sentences describing each room and the relationship of objects in each room to one another (use estar + prepositions of place). 5 paragraphs of 5 sentences each. This rubric is designed to assess an individual's performance during a group project. The idea behind this rubric is for the other group members to contribute vital information regarding everyone's individual contribution to the overall completion of the project.

ON HALF A POSTER BOARD CREATE A FICTIONAL FAMILY TREE. IT MUST INCLUDE 8-10 FAMILY MEMBERS. EACH FAMILY MEMBER SHOULD BE REPRESENTED BY A PICTURE AND SHOULD BE LABELED BY THEIR NAME AND THEIR RELATIONSHIP TO 1 KEY PERSON IN THE FAMILY. NEXT WRITE SENTENCES ABOUT EACH FAMILY MEMBER. TELL THE AGE OF 4-5 OF YOUR FAMILY MEMBERS. FOR THE OTHER 4-5, WRITE THE DATE OF THEIR BIRTHDAY. NEXT WRITE ONE SENTENCE DESCRIBING EACH MEMBER OF THE FAMILY. ALL WORK SHOULD BE IN SPANISH, NEAT, ORGANIZED AND ATTRACTIVE. COLOR PREFERRED.
