Every month the student will complete a book report on a library book at the sixth grade level. The student has chosen to participate in "Book It" this month. This option allows the student to complete a detailed report on a book of their choice. For their extra effort, the student will be rewarded with a personal pan pizza from Pizza Hut. GT students must participate in "Book It". Students with a failing grade will not be rewarded. To receive credit the rubric must be attached to the top of the book report.

Teamwork is behaviors under the control of individual team members (effort they put into team tasks, their manner of interacting with others on team, and the quantity and quality of contributions they make to team discussions.)

Design a whole page for a class newspaper about a historical issue; the goal is that the other students get to know the topic and understand it through the newspaper articles, editorial, news and different sections. Format also counts.

The students will work on their own to put together a poster or pamphlet for display. The poster/pamphlet will contain relevant information directly related to the theme of Abstinence, a Birth Control method or a Sexually Transmitted Infection. Students will provide accurate information in a creative and colorful poster/pictures or scenarios to educate peers about the chosen topic. The poster will be designed on poster board (1/2 or full-sized poster board) or electronically. The pamphlet will be designed on a standard size sheet of paper or electronically.

Students will provide accurate information in a creative and colorful pamphlet to educate peers about the chosen topic. The pamphlet will be designed on electronically or on 8.5X11 printer paper folded in thirds.
