This is a rubric for the Geography Population & Immigration debates. It is adapted from read write think's debate rubric.

These are guidelines to follow for creating your brochure.

Students will create their own advertisement for an energy efficient car to raise awareness about how to have a more positive impact on the Earth's environment.

Students will create at least a 15 word crossword puzzle using the vocabulary words for Chapters 1,2,7, and 10. The puzzle must be the student's original work and should include key vocabulary words.

6th Grade Social Studies Travel Brochure Project (Geography)

Students organize information about the Five Themes of Geography researching a country.

Students will know the names of the fifty states and where they go on a map

Design a service learning project that can be used to celebrate Earth Day. The project proposal should include the 5 W's and H of the project: Who is benefitted from the project? Why? How will the project happen? When will the project be done? What is needed for the project? Where are you providing the service? The project should consider how to have the largest, sustainable or perpetual impact, on the environment. Projects must be completed for credit. See rubric for detailed grading criteria.
