Football Multiplication is a game that will help the student practice multiplication. The learning target for this game is the student will be able to perform multiplication with 95% accuracy.

Student is to draw one of their initals in one quadrant of the coordinate plane and then use at least two of the three different transformations to move the figure to the other quadrants. The student is to explain what transformation was done, and how they did it. They are to label all the coordinates on the diagram on all four initials. Then they are to decorate. They may use notebook paper if necessary for the descriptions.

Students will create a comic using personifaction and other figurative language devices.

Students must create a chart on figurative language (idioms, similes, and metaphors). Chart must contain type of figurative language, definitions of each type of language, and examples

The student will write a subtraction number sentence. The student will show his/her thinking using numbers, and pictures. Students will record solution strategies clearly.

Indiana State Standards: 1.2.5 Understand the meaning of the symbols +, -, and =. 1.3.1 Write and solve number sentences from problem situations involving addition and subtraction.

Research and write a report, or do a poster on the Savanna in Africa.

Identifying place values in subtraction and addition problems.

Students will solve each problem then illustrate the angles and measurements.

Poetry Portfolio: This project is the final assessment in the unit of Poetry. In this task students compile original poetry done in class including Acrostic, Haiku, Rhyming, and Concrete Poems.

Compare two items of different sizes by calculating the unit rate. Write an explanation about your comparison as Mrs. Evan's has explained. Neatly present a picture of your item, calculations of your unit rate and an explanation of which is the better buy on a standard 8 1/2 by 11 inch paper.
