Write an autobiographical essay in which you introduce yourself to me. Provide a brief life history including information about your family, where you live (and have lived), your pets, your favorite things, etc.) When I finish reading your autobiography, I should feel like I have known you forever. It should be AT LEAST TWO PAGES in length. Use your best writing skills. (No spelling, grammar, punctuation problems!)

This rubric will be used to mark each one of your 4 pieces of writing in your Personal Identity Project.

Students will design a character collage based on a from an interview of a person you know or would like to be.

Students are to select one song that relates to the theme of the novel. Students must also provide lyrics and a paragraph explanation of how the song relates to the theme.

Students will complete the plot diagram and identify each element of plot including the rising action, climax, falling action. Students will also decide on a theme and state the conflict and resolution. and decide on who the protagonist and antagonist are in the novel.

Students will create a Venn Diagram comparing and contrasting Cheryl and April from the novel April Raintree.

Students are to write a short story that demonstrates their understanding of the stages of plot and the characteristics of a short story.

Oral communication is a prepared, purposeful presentation designed to increase knowledge, to foster understanding, or to promote change in the listeners' attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors. Oral communication takes many forms.

Students will create a comic strip about their favourite or most exciting part of the novel that was studied in class.

Students are to create their own poetic device dictionary. The dictionary will include a definition of the poetic device, example of the device used in a poem, and a picture that represents the poetic device.

Students will adopt personal food plans, based on nutritional needs and personal goals, to improve or maintain their eating practices. 1. Use the SMART goal framework to create three personal nutrition goals. 2. Complete a week long meal plan using the dry-erase planner provided. Use the Canada food guide checklist to ensure that your plan meets all nutrition requirements. 3. Explain how your meal plan will help you to achieve your nutrition goals. (Minimum 2 paragraphs) Please hand in all three parts to this assignment.

This is a rubric for a poetry book consisting of several samples of different forms of poetry.

Create a Self Portrait of a character in your novel.

Write a well-developed piece of writing in regards to your favorite character from your independent reading novel. Explain why you would like to have one of the charcater's as a friend. In the essay, you must discuss your character's traits, relationships, motivations, and experiences. Relevant evidence must be used to support your thoughts and opinions.
