Grade 7 • identify and explain the themes of geographic inquiry: location/place, environment, region, interaction, and movement; • use a variety of geographic resources and tools to gather, process, and communicate geographic information; • analyse current environmental issues or events from the perspective of one or more of the themes of geographic inquiry. A narrative paragraph tells a story. · I can use transitional words to order events in a story · I can use dialogue to show how characters deal with each other and events. · I can use descriptive details so the reader can see what is happening in my story. * I can describing the setting, the roles, and beginning to introduce the events in the story through the perspective of the story teller.

The students will work to put together a poster for display. The poster will contain relevant information directly related to their assigned Composer. Students will collect pictures and other artifacts for their poster to create a creative and colorful poster. The poster will be designed on a single sheet of poster paper no larger than 22"x 28".

A descriptive paragraph paints a picture with words. A descriptive paragraph is well organized and structured, using strong sensory language and descriptive details.

Assessment of a piece of writing with a focus on grammar, punctuation, spelling and sentence structure.

3rd grade Unit: Plants

Students will demonstrate their understanding of expository text structure (comparison/contrast, cause/effect, sequence of events, problem/ solution, and description/list) They will read an article and find the correct expository text structure used. They will complete the appropriate graphic organizer for the text structure.

Assessing Student Reading Fluency in the Elementary Grades

Assess how well students understand and apply the knowledge of sounds and letters and recall high frequency words when reading. Assess fluency and strategies to decode texts.

Evaluates how well students completed the play writing assignment for the Mythology unit.

Students will choose something they know how to do and write a procedural passage to tell someone else how to do the chosen tasks using transitional words.

Write sentences using all fifteen spelling words. All sentences must be at least 7-10 words long. Each sentence must begin with a different word, capital letter and have proper end punctuation. Start each sentence on a new line. Number all sentences. Underline or highlight all spelling words. Make sure two of your sentences are questions (?) and one sentence uses a exclamation(!).

Students will be able to match words and definitions, complete sentences with vocabulary words, write definitions for vocabulary words, and write original sentences for selected vocabulary words.

This rubric will be used to evaluate how a student works and participates during activities (work, class, meeting, assembly, etc.). I have purposely weighted each criteria this way as I believe this rubric will be fairer to the lower level students that are trying to participate rather than those that are largely unresponsive in class - Fair = 3 and Poor = 1

Students will know homework expectations which include completeness, accuracy, legibility, and layout.

This is for a Spanish 2 lesson on giving and following directions around town.
