While reading the novel, you will blog three examples of rhetoric. You will also blog three real life examples of rhetoric. For each example, you will identify the rhetorical appeals used, and whether or not you believe the appeals were effective and why. Include personal connections! The last blog post will contain the text for a rhetorical speech you write on the subject of your choice. The speeches will be presented in class.

Pretend your book has been made into a movie. Create a POSTER to advertise your "movie"(book). Your poster should be easy to read. Be creative, colorful, include a title, pictures, movie times, movie ratings and it must be laminated in some form. AVOID: Do NOT copy the Book's cover...this will result in a grade of zero. Also avoid, sloppy picture and lettering, colors that do not work together, late work and lack of effort. Your poster will not have white space---unless it is a part of the picture, a uniform, whites of people's eyes etc......

Use movie making techniques to recreate a movie from novel. Movie project should include each student playing a role in the movie and it must be on a DVD that can be turned in and played in class and include a title, the teachers name, title of class, credits, or any other element to contribute to the final product. Group must also turn in a script. If group does not turn in a script and/or if not all members participated equally grade will be lowered 100 points.

Imagine that you are the author of the book you have just read. Suddenly the book becomes a bestseller. Write a letter to a movie producer trying to get that person interested in making your book into a movie. Explain why the story, characters, conflicts, etc., would make a good film. Suggest a filming location and the actors to play the various roles. Be detailed! Create a movie poster that will entice people to watch the movie.
