The purpose of this rubric is to assess students' working portfolios throughout the semester.

Students will work in Language! or on the Internet to improve their speaking, reading, writing, and listening skills in English.

Rubric to assess ELL writing

This rubric is based on the JCPS PBA rubric and modified for numeric grades. It attempts to reflect standards based learning measurement with a unit of scoring for grading purposes.

You will make a comic strip using basic greetings, basic questioning, and basic farewells. You must draw 6 pictures and include a dialogue between the two people. You should include: a greeting, some basic questions, and a farewell.

Assessing reading comprehension - Grade 9-12 Core Spanish

Intermediate language class

This rubric is designed for a Spanish 4 Midterm project presentation in which they will be presenting a skit in Spanish. The skit is based off the unit's vocabulary of travel, giving directions, and grammar points covered all quarter; in addition to any previous knowledge they have from Spanish 1 and 2. They are to pretend to travel to Madrid and have a conversation with a friend about all they did there. The creativity is up to them to decide the rest! The students are being graded both individually and as a group. The skit must be video tape prior to the presentation.

The purpose of a Socratic Seminar is to achieve a deeper understanding about the ideas and values in a text. In a Seminar, participants systematically question and examine issues and principles related to a particular content, and articulat different points-of-view. The group conversation assists participants in constructing meaning through disciplined analysis, interpretation, listening, and participation.

This rubric is designed to grade students participation and preparedness during instructor-supported learning time.
