Class Conduct/Work Habits
Students receive a weekly grade based on their attendance and punctuality, working with others, safety practices, quality of work, and following directions.
Studio Art Personal Mandala Project
Students will construct a mandala which incorporate aspects of their personality, show good craftsmanship, and utilize shading techniques.
Weebly Website Portfolio
Students will build a webpage showcasing several of their projects from throughout the semester. This counts for 50% of final exam grade.

Watercolor Landscape Painting
Students will create two watercolor landscape paintings; one contains a creek running towards the foreground with other natural elements present in the background, and the other is a sunset reflecting on water with a pier and trees in the foreground. Students will create a foreground, middle ground, and background using watercolor techniques.
Basket Weaving for Crafts
A rubric that properly evaluates the artistic process. It measures the various phases and approaches that are necessary in the assessment of a project or a work of art.
This rubric is used for grading and assessing stained glass projects in a secondary art course
Mosaic On-going Assignment
Students will create a design (realistic, abstract, or non-objective) based on a song lyric or line of poetry and create a mosaic using the direct method of mosaic application.
Students will have designated sketchbook time in class. Students will include bellwork and notes in their sketchbooks. Sketchbook entries may need to be completed outside of class.

The Elements of Design play an important role in photography. This assignment requires you to take a series of digital photos to illustrate each element of sesign Each picture should be interesting to look at. You will take a series of 9 images for each element of compositon. You will compile these into a series of 9 contact sheets. One for each element. Your best shot from each contact should be placed on one contact sheet. Save all contacts as jpeg files. Upload all to your weebly website on one page called Elements of Design
Elements of Design Research
Students will conduct online research of the elements of art and principles of design, and compile the information into a cohesive document.
Final Exam- Studio Art Portfolio
This rubric is used for grading the content of each art portfolio and counts for 70% of the final exam grade. The slideshow and presentation counts as 30% of the final exam grade. (see attached rubric)
Final Darkroom Photography Portfolio
This rubric is for grading the content of each student photo portfolio and counts as 70% of the final exam grade, see attached assessment rubric for the slideshow and presentation grade which counts as 30% of the final grade.
Self Portrait Photomontage
Students used skills learned from PhotoShop tutorials and combined them with physical alterations to create a self-portrait photomontage.
Students will create a three dimensional wire sculpture
Two Point Perspective Tree House Drawing and 3-D Model
This rubric is used for a two point perspective drawing and a 3-D model created from the drawing.
Ink Drawing Metamorphosis Project
Students will transform an inanimate object into animate form or vice versa. The student must find an object that interests them and create a series of 4 drawings showing a transformation to a living "thing". i.e. pair of pliers to a butterfly.
