Students will infer (using their background knowledge and specific clues from the scene what has taken place in the classroom. This will be assessed through the students ability to use the inferring equation BK+C=I (Background Knowledge + Clues = Inference). Students create two columns in their journal - Clues and Meaning. They will then write a paragraph about what they "infer" took place in the classroom.

They will include the following: hyperbole, simile, metaphor, onomontopeia, and personification. The definition and at least one example of each must be given. BE CREATIVE! You must use the entire space of the poster material and use color/paste pictures, etc.

Complete a 4 panel comic strip based on a scene from Hatchet. Include Title (Main Idea), Authors (each of the group names). It should be completed neatly and colored. It must correctly represent the scene chosen from Hatchet.
