You will create a myth that explains a natural phenomenon such as the reason behind a volcano's eruption, earthquake, echoes, rainbows, droughts etc. Your myth can contain Roman gods but you must include a god of your own. As you brainstorm what to write, it is important to remember that Romans created their stories with a purpose. Myths described how things came about in nature and incorporated human-like qualities/emotions.

Following the description provided on the Roman Project description page, student will use this rubric for creating the newspaper, abc or numeral book.

Create a model or diorama depicting a famous building or structure of Ancient Rome

You are to create a board game bases on Ancient Rome. How you create your board game is up to you as long as you follow the requirements in the rubric.

Each student was given a statistical question. Students will create a data table, relative frequency table, histogram, dot plot, and calculate the mean, median and mode from data collected by a survey of 6th graders. Students will also identify the outlier (if applicable). All data will be displayed on a poster board. This assignment is worth 2 test grades.

In this project you will organize information about your bag of Skittles using multiple statistical representations.

You are a travel agent for your colony. You are to create a travel brochure to attract citizens to come along on your adventure. You will research the internet and use your imagination. This brochure should be colorful, creative and written to entice travelers to spend their money to travel to your planet. You must include important facts about your planet. How will one arrive on your planet? What is needed to survive? Distance from Earth and sun must be included in your brochure.

Students have been given bags of skittles. They will organize the data in a chart or frequency table. Then the students will graph the data in the charts. The students will work in teams of 3-5 students.

Write a survey question that will gather numberical data. Construct 3 different tables/charts/graphs to represent the data collected. Calculate the mean, median, mode and range of the data. Reflect on the data collected.
