Write an Essay on a Nuclear Energy or Radioactivity USE or Field of your choice. You must explain Who, what, when , where, why and how. You must discuss who is in control of this USE/Field and the pros and cons of the technology. You must create a poster explaining the use or field.

Students may choose one of the following project types: Cell protrait, Cell model, Cell comic, Cell story, Cell song/poem, Cell Children's book. All must also include an information sheet and a resource sheet. All must be completed neatly and professionally. Presentation is 50% of the grade and the Information Key is 50% of the grade. Assignment is a double summative. Class participation and rough draft will be formative scores.

Create Element Tiles from periodic table elements. Tiles are color coded based on Family groups and based on state of the atom. Students were to include 2-3 examples with pictures. In addition, 2-3 unique properties for each element. Other requirements, Atomic Symbol, Atomic number, Atomic Mass

Students must create a 3-D cell model of ONE of the following cell types: plant cell or animal cell. They may instead do an detailed 3d model of an organelle.s Student must label all parts of the cell or organelle, and be prepared explain their model. Create a 3-D representation of the major aspects of a cell, including but not limited to: nucleus, mitochondria, Golgi apparatus, cell wall, cytoplasm, and endoplasmic reticulum.

Students will incorporate information from individual research investigations into a visual representation following the specified criteria.

Create a food web consisting of organisms found in a specific ecosystem. Name organisms, identify abiotic and biotic factors, show the flow of energy in the food web, classify organisms as producer, consumer (primary, secondary, or tertiary), detritivore or decomposer; and indicate impact in that community of removing one species. Label three to five interspecific interactions that occur in within web. Predict with justification what might happen if a component in the food web changes.

Students will create a baby book based on their understanding of genetics. This project will count as a summative grade, as it is assessing the students on all concepts within this unit.

Throughout Chapter 2 we will be discussing the organelles and processes mainly associated with plant and animal cells. As an extension activity, you will complete a project highlighting one TYPE of cell. For your project you will research your cell type and construct a cereal box advertising a cereal that is related to your type of cell. Just as a cereal box has six sides, your project will have six “sides.”
