Poetry Book Rubric
Create a poetry book that will include six original poems: Each poem should contain at least 4 lines. Use figurative language like simile, metaphor, symbolism, rhyme, repetition, assonance, etc.. the options are endless. Create a table of contents page with the name of each poem and it's theme. Also, write a full page reflection page as to why you chose to write these poems and how you believe you have improved as a poet during this unit.

Personal Narrative
Write a Personal Narrative Essay about an important,life-changing event from your life. Describe your memorable event in chronological order. Use the literary element flashback as an introduction technique. Include reactions in your personal narrative such as dialogue and emotions. Include a reflection in your essay on what you learned from this experience. Your personal narrative should be a five paragraph essay with an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Memoir
Students will narrate a personal memoir. The memoir should focus on the relationship of a person/place/thing and/or relate an event that had a substantial impact on the memoirist. The memoir must include effective use of dialogue, imagery, and a reflection, as well as a compelling lead paragraph and a memorable concluding paragraph.
