Reading Logs will be collected every other Friday. Five points extra credit for each extra logical entry.

This rubric will be used to evaluate how students participate daily.

Summarizing a nonfiction article

A student can earn from 0-20 points per class, based on his/her behavior during class. A student's Daily Behavior Grade is contingent upon the student's actions in class activities, discussions, and the overall classroom environment. This daily grade was engineered to ensure that each student is receiving the most out of his/her time in Reading Enrichment, while also enabling parents/guardians to remain informed of their student's behavior in the classroom.

Students will be scored on multiple parts of their response: construction of the response, quality of the information written, capitals and punctuation, sentence mechanics.

You must create a magazine based around a broad, or specific, topic of your choice. Your magazine must include 5 different articles, all written in a different on-fiction text structure. You magazine must include non-fiction text features.

Students will know Center expectations which would include completeness, accuracy, requirements, legibility and time management.

Students will create a children's book or write and illustrate a story that has relates to germs and how to keep them from being transmitted.

This Facebook page is an imaginary recreation of the "Social Network." The first page should be the profile page and the next few pages will be a conversation between the student and the person they have created the page for.
