BREAKING NEWS Report

A Persuasive Essay
The persuasive essay must contain 1 introduction paragraph, 3 supporting paragraphs, and 1 concluding paragraph. You should incorporate persuasive techniques, and persuasive language in your writing. Use the examples and guidelines we discussed. The steps to persuasive writing should be followed.

Popsicle Stick Bridge Building
All bridges must be made out of popsicle sticks and white or wood glue. The bridge must span distance of 30 centimeters.

Nervous System Disease Presentation
This rubric is to grade student's research of a disease on the human body nervous system, describing the disease, the main organs or body parts involved and a major diseases or illnesses associated with that system. Groups will describe the changes of this body system due to a disease. Each group will give an oral presentation using their interactive poster/bulletin board. The board must include all key facts about the system, be creatively displayed, A bibliography must be pasted onto the back of the board with at least one non-internet resouce.

Students will write a persuasive editorial of their choice topic, while establishing a distinctive voice in their writing Learning Goals: Write in a variety of genres such as editorials.Access and use language to construct and demonstrate knowledge. Organize writing so that it has an inviting introduction, a logical progression of ideas, and a purposeful conclusion. Develop ideas and content with significant details, examples, and/or reasons to address a prompt.

The Five Themes of Geography Research Project
Students will choose a country and using the five themes of geography identify a region. Students must research the landform region, its location, population, climate, time zone and vegetation. Students should be able to explain how their chosen country's landscape, population and climate affect it's growth and development as a country. Students must present their information in a clear and concise way.
