Our final project in our Earth and Space Science module will be to create an interactive museum exhibit on a topic of your choice, relating to this quarter's exploration of the Earth-Sun-Moon system, our solar system, galaxies, space-time, etc.

Students are to create a movie trailer for their independent reading book. The book should engage viewers and make the viewers WANT to read the book. Requirements include 2-4 minutes of video, script and storyboard, music, titles, and some editing. Student's video MUST be relevant to the book.

Students will create a miniature ecosystem that must contain all of the major elements of an ecosystem, including: habitat, plants, water source, decomposers, producers, and consumers. Projects may be in any-sized container that the student might chose, but must be easy to transport alone. Projects will be due April 15, and must include a 2 page, typed report. Purpose: Students will inform the audience about how a current event topic has affected, or is affecting the world today. Students will write a 3 (typed) to 5 (hand written) page report telling the reader about the background/history of their topic, how it relates to current events (affects us today), and why this topic interests them/their opinion or feelings on the topic. All sources are to be listed using MLA formatting.

Students will present a 1-2 page, typed paper describing the function, main organs and major diseases associated with an organ system. Students will describe how this system interacts with other organ systems. Each group will also give an oral presentation, providing a working model of their given system. The model should be creatively displayed and all major parts of the system mentioned in the written portion must be labeled and present in the working model.

Students will work in groups, each with a focus on the years 1760-1783 of the Revolutionary timeline. Students will research and have a minimum of 10 events on their poster. Each group will share their information with the rest of the class.

Groups will design and price the build of a chicken coop to hold 10 full-sized hens. Designs are due Friday, October 1, 2021.

Students will create a Minecraft "skin mod" that represents a character from a story read in their Language Arts course, using the website Tynker.com.

Students will create a video showing a working model or narrated slideshow of the mechanics behind the phases of the moon. Students will show the relationships between the Moon, Sun, and Earth during each required phase. (*Project points are double weighted.)

Students will work with table groups to create a 5 minute presentation on their given biome. Students may use a number of formats, including (but not limited to) Minecraft, Skits, Songs, Collages, and Models. Due 09/15

Students will design a unique application for the Tynker app, utilizing and documenting the design process. Students will then create an add suite to market the app/game.

Your final project for our first novel discussion is to create a video review for "Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone". Your video should be short, only 3-5 minutes long, and include a summary of the plot (including major characters, and teasers of events (don't give away too much)), and your opinion of the book (did you like it and was it well written, with LOTS OF EXAMPLES and evidence!). This project is worth 45 points, and is due Wed., Sept. 30.

Students will create a projects, using the medium of their choice, that shows the planets (including our moon), Sun, and Asteroid Belt/Oort Cloud/Kuiper Belt. Information should be accurate and any items used, in proportion. Students should tell about each provided object's size, distance to the Sun, and include at least 2 cool facts about each. Projects should be ready to present to the class by Thursday, September 17. This project is work 45 points.
