This rubric is used to assess a learner's ability to identify, select, don, and doff personal protective equipment (PPE) in a medical environment in order to prevent exposure to blood-borne pathogens.

Demonstrate proficiency in the aseptic preparation of an IV medication withdrawn from a glass ampule.

Scoring steps required for completion of skill as well as technique. The rubric is designed to account for C, B, and A levels of competency, (70%, 80% AND 90%). Any skills below this level will receive zero credit.

Students are assigned to create a brochure for an insurance policy. It must include the coverage, benefits, and premiums, deductible and claim information.

Students will work in teams of two to research a medical condition requiring medication. They will present the information in front of the class in an informative and creative manner.

Research the approved topic. Submit one 4-5 page typed paper, double spaced, 12 point font. Include a bibliography citing at least 3 resources used researching the paper. Quotes can not be more than 5 lines. You are encouraged to interject your personal opinion into this paper. Paper will be graded on quality of research to support the topic, effective use of information gained through research, credibility of sources, content, grammar and mechanics, and bibliography.

This rubric will be used to assess pharmacy technician students on their ability to perform accurate shelf maintenance in a pharmacy setting.

Students will create a drug info booklet consisting of cover,index page, brand/generic and forms of med (ex:capsule) with dosage strengths, indication, usage, missed dose, adverse reaction/interaction/warnings, side effects, medication. Extra points given if student lists website and phone number for patient assistant program and how to access this information. Student must create a booklet with pictures of medication and create informative and accurate information.

Choose a full-length article pertaining to pharmacy practice from a recent issue (last 5 years) of a scholarly journal (note- you may find these located within the library's database). Write a clear 2-3 page summary of the article. Be sure to provide an electronic copy or a hard copy of your article (or a link to the article) because you'll need to turn it in with your paper.

Using three of the brand name drugs drugs listed on the top 200 drug list, write a brief description of your chosen drugs, including Pharmacokinetics, side effect's, drug interactions.
