Exploring the origins of vocabulary used in accounting and details about important government and financial organizations will help the students form a base of common knowledge of the field of accounting before specific accounting concepts are learned.

Using text or handout, perform the following: 1. Demonstrate knowledge of basic accounting/bookkeeping functions 2. Identify the correct section dealing with the functional area of a business in QuickBooks 3. Follow the steps listed to perform the accounting function
