This rubric evaluates skill in drawing and adding color with qtip using pointillism and tempra paints.

Talk about Monet and Impressionism. Create a 3D waterlilly using paper. Cut out petals, curl to make them stand up, glue together on a lilly pad.

After studying Georgia O'Keeffe's flowers, the students zoomed into an interested place on their flower references. We did a small grid drawing labeling the shapes with their corresponding colors. The grid drawing was transferred on to larger paper and then colored with oil pastels.

This rubric is used for a one point perspective city drawing

The student will create their own original artwork (tessellation) using altered polygons and translations; using the principles and elements of art. The student will be able define tessellations by their basic attributes and give examples of tessellations in the environment and history.

In this lesson, the students learned about the history of mandalas.They then created their own unique mandalas using mix media of sand, gel pens, construction paper crayons and pencils, and glitter glue.

Color Wheel -After reading over the color wheel section together and completing the color wheel exercises using the software, students will create a color wheel in their sketchbooks, using their colored pencils. -Then students will write next to the wheel a list of the primary colors and secondary colors, and will also write down what each colors compliment is (complimentary colors). Students will also list what colors can be used to create gray.
