The students will put together a poster to show during their oral presentation. The poster will display what they want their American life to be and may contrast with what it is. The student will present briefly about their poster.

Students will research, plan, and compose an informative speech in which their performance will be evaluated in terms of specific standards, including the clarity and completeness of your speech and the quality of your presentation in explaining your topic matter. Non-verbal communication is highlighted. Students will have 3 to 4 minutes to deliver the speech. Any over that time will result in points being deducted.

Shakespeare - A Midsummer Night's Dream Students must take a position on whether the events in the story were a dream or reality. They must use at least one textual piece of evidence and cite it. They must have a clear thesis.

Students will create a digital representation or poster representing a character or scene from the Shakespeare play "A Midsummer Night's Dream."

The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing this comparing/contrasting essay. This rubric will help me, the teacher, to assess student writing and inform further instruction.The student will compare and contrast the "Twiglight Zone Number 12 Looks Just Like You," and the story "Harrison Bergeron."

After being exposed to many different forms of poetry, and understanding the power of words, students will create a poster or project including 5 songs and 2 poems they can relate to. They will arrange them neatly and explain each song and what it means to them.

Students will write a fictional piece using a real event in history from an article. Writing will be graded on capitalization, punctuation, use of main idea and supporting details, spelling, grammar usage, and figurative language such as with similes and allusions. Also the writing may include metaphors.

Students must create a video, poster, website or collage representing a theme from "The Contender."
