Rubric for any project following scientific method with emphasis on student effort and ability to follow directions.

Objective: To create an accurate model of DNA, RNA, and proteins as well as the processes of DNA replication and protein synthesis. Materials: You can use any materials available to you – be creative!

Students are to design an experiment which can be conducted in the classroom. Projects must include a problem, hypothesis, research, step by step experiment instructions and a method to display data. Please state if the experiment supports the hypothesis. All information must be presented in a PowerPoint. Students will be responsible to turn in a safety data sheet detailing the safety of the products they are using. Students must also turn in a two page paper and a works cited page.

Students will choose a health topic related to a skin and create a educational brochure for a selected population. For example, a brochure highlighting skin cancer. Topic must be approved by instructor before beginning. Please see the attached rubric or the instructor for additional help. A total of 25 points. You must cite your sources.

Oral communication is a prepared, purposeful presentation designed to increase knowledge, to foster understanding, or to promote change in the listeners' attitudes, values, beliefs, or behaviors. Oral communication takes many forms. This rubric is specifically designed to evaluate oral presentations of a single speaker at a time and is best applied to live or video-recorded presentations. For panel presentations or group presentations, it is recommended that each speaker be evaluated separately. This rubric best applies to presentations of sufficient length such that a central message is conveyed, supported by one or more forms of supporting materials and includes a purposeful organization. An oral answer to a single question not designed to be structured into a presentation does not readily apply to this rubric.

Students are to make an attractive eye catching brochure on a regular 8 1/2"x11" paper. The brochure must be a tri-fold or a bi-fold and must look something you would like to read if you just happened to see it laying around. Research the element you were assigned.

Students needed to write and illustrate a description of the cell cycle in the style of a children's book called " A Cell's Life." Be sure to include each phase, including G1, S, G2, mitosis, and cytokinesis.
