Middle School String Orchestra playing tests.

Students will use the close reading strategy to ask and answer questions about an informational text. Students will ask and answer questions about the text.

Learning Outcomes: Students will demonstrate, using the guitar, their ability to read & interpret proper pitches & rhythms. The purpose of this rubric is to assess a student's music theory knowledge via guitar performance. Music Content Standards: Reading & Notating: Students will read & notate music. Read whole, half, quarter, eighth, & dotted notes & rests in 2/4, 3/4, & 4/4 meter signatures.

Students will use common rhythms and simple melodic gestures to compose a 2 measure composition in 4/4 time. Students will also turn in a self reflection describing the cognitive process they used in developing their composition. Students must be able to perform the composition on guitar.

Sharp and Flat placement on the staff, the order of sharps and flats in a key signature and finally Major key signatures to 7 sharps and 7 flats.
