To measure effectivness of sensory break on increasing sustained focus and attention to task completion in the classroom

Rubric to review the effectiveness of therapeutic listening coupled with sensory integrative functioning to speed the emergence of: attention, self regulation, postural control, fine motor control, oral motor skills and visual motor integration. Criteria selected, specific to the needs of individual students. Not all areas need to be scored. Work completion and in class behavior criteria not to be scored as part of rubric, but included for observation review only.

While using scissors student will demonstrate adequate orientation, demonstrate adequate bilateral skill and cut on straight and curved lines to complete task.

Students can earn from 0-10 points per class based on their behavior during class. For grades 6-8 the class participation/behavior grade is the student's grade in Computer Class. For Middle School, the class participation/behavior grade is 50% of the grade in Computer Class.

This rubric has been designed to assess student's on task performance during classroom instruction. Students may gain points. 20 points will replace 1 quiz grade or may be used as extra credit within a 6 week period. This rubric is completed weekly.

Kindergarten students will look at a picture and create a narrative writing describing an imaginary story based on the picture.

After modeling and demonstration the student will be able to copy a sentence from the board, form letters correctly, write letters on the appropriate lines and spaces of writing paper
