1 rubric L'Art Présentation en Groupe       popup preview  
Students will be placed into groups of 3-4, and will be choose a famous French artist to present to the class. Each student in that group will be responsible for one of the following areas of expertise: 1) biography of the artist, 2) the body of work by the artists, and 3) study of a work in detail. Each group will then give their presentation to the class. Each area should be presented using a 1-3-minute presentation using either PowerPoint, Keynote, Prezi, or some similar technology.

2 rubric Culture Presentation       popup preview  
Students will break into groups of 4, and be assigned a country. Each student in that group will be responsible for researching one of the following topics for that country: customs, traditions, geography, and current events. Each group will then present thier findings, using visual aids to the class. Each topic should be presented using a two-minute presentation. The group is to then work together to hand in a one page, typed paper describing what they found in each of the four areas. If students want to work in smaller groups, they are allowed, but all four topic must still be covered with a two minute presentation. So, for example, a group of two would have to present 4 minutes of material each.

Two of your group members are interviewing a famous person from any French-speaking society. The person may be from the past or present. Along with your partner, your answers and questions, must show knowledge of your historical figure and be creative in nature.

4 rubric Voyage à un pays francophone       popup preview  
The purpose of this project is to facilitate student learning about travel to a French-speaking country. The student will pretend that he/she has a budget of $3500 to visit a minimum of 3 cities in 2 or more French-speaking countries (or French territories) for 2-5 days each and will make round trip travel arrangements to and from their chosen countries. To be prepared for the trip, the student will use technology to conduct internet research, books and travel brochures in order to be able to answer questions about their chosen countries' culture, government, religion, social events, recreational pastimes, history, economics, etc. After the student has gathered all of the research, s/he will synthesize the information and create a comprehensive itinerary in French (French III & IV) or in English (French I & II) for the trip. This itinerary will then be presented to the class. French I & II will need to memorize 5-10 basic French sentences for the presentation as well.

This rubric is designed for a French presentation performance assessment in which the students will be presenting a French poem orally and with props. Students are being graded both individually and as a group. The skit can be recorded or presented "live" in front of the class.

The student will choose a French music artist to research for a class presentation where he/she must speak about the artist and play a song. The student will create a picture slide show to support his/her presentation. The song will be explained to the class using French pictures and gestures.

9 rubric French 3 - Ma routine quotidienne - My daily routine       popup preview  
To create a visual demonstration of your daily routine – what you do from the moment you wake up, until you go back to bed – demonstrating your knowledge of reflexive verbs. The purpose of the assignment is to demonstrate the your understanding of the use of reflexive verbs, and when and how to use them correctly. The narrative should include specific times of day at which the events occur, transition words to help the scenes "flow," and use correct grammar and vocabulary.
