A rubric to use for grading creative writing assignments including poetry.

For Black History Month, the student is to read a biography about an African American, and then write and present a biography cube on this important historical figure. This biography includes information about the person's life, what led them to their chosen career or purpose, what contributions they made to society, interesting or unique facts about the person, and the student's own reflections about the impact that the person and their contributions have on modern times.

When asked to define vocabulary. Students will use the Frayer Model to explain the vocabulary words. Students will write the word, define the word, provide an example, use in a sentence and draw a picture explaining the word. (C.C.R.S.T.1)
