Art & Design students should be able to successfully critique their own artwork and that of others using terminology that is understandable and relevant to students in the field of art, photography, and design. Choose a creative work (your own or another's). Write a critique using the 4 elements discussed in class. These elements don't necessarily need to be in separate headings, but must be present. Length: at least 300 words.

Students will use this rubric for their daily in class writing prompts. Writing prompts will be graded each month with 15 prompts per a month. Students can make up prompts for days they are absent, but it will be their responsibility to learn of prompts they have missed and they will be expected to write those prompts on their own time. A total of 25 points given for this assignment. 15 points for completion, which is 1 pt per prompt finished. 10 points for overall writing standard.

Final Draft of Expository Essay Organizing your ideas into an expositiory essay, with thesis statement or topic sentence, high end ideas with transtion words, details, and conclusion.

This assessment will be used to evaluate what level of art middle school art students have attained from year to year.

Art projects without a specific rubric or other assessment criteria will be evaluated and graded using the following rubric.

Students will research a little known Black Historical figure and present to the class. The prestataton will be in form of powerpoint or poster

Students will know classwork expectations which would include completeness, accuracy, requirements, legibility and time management. This rubric will also provide a means of grading homework assignments. The better the quality of your homework, hopefully, the better your grade. Pay attention to grammar, spelling, and sentence sturcture. Above all, be mindful of content. (i.e., what you're saying)

To be used as a self-assessment tool for projects in the art room. This rubric is scored as a completion grade. Points will be given when students complete the self-assessment.

Student verbal response assessment of key understandings in the lesson, "Cave Art Done Today the Old Fashioned Way."

This rubric will be used to evaluate value creation with the 12 color wheel hues. Use of: tint, tone, and shading will be required to properly create (12) individual hue value scales.

This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values, by drawing two dimensional shapes into three dimensional shaded forms.
