Students will create an imaginary family, using pictures or illustrations for each relative. and labeling the family members as indicated by rubric (family label). Your family tree will include a description of each family member and one pet can be used! Also, one picture and description will be of you! You will introduce yourself and describe all the members of your family tree, providing name and age to the class (in Spanish, of course). You can have a theme or not - be creative and neat!

Use formal commands to create a guide for new students at Hopkins. What should they do to prepare for the school year? How should they prepare for classes? Where should they go during their free time/study halls? What do they do at lunch? Give a rundown of a day or week.

Create a video using Tú mandatos and earn 40 points towards your final exam. Make a video with that lasts 2-3 minutes. Be sure to use at least 15 tú mandatos, BOTH negative and affirmative. Turn in a hard copy of the script with the key words highlighted. The video must be meaningful and engaging. Must be school appropriate. DUE the WEEK of Exams by Friday January 12, so the sooner you get your rough draft in, the more time you will have to complete it.

Student will create and present a family tree or album using pictures. The pictures need to be described with information provided in the rubric. The tree will include a minimum of 10 family members. One of the 10 may be you! Students will introduce and describe at least 3 out of the 10 members in their family tree and then present it to the class (in Spanish, of course).

Students will research a topic chosen in class and work within a group to gather relevant information and present to the school.

Students will create a Dia de los Muertos altar using a shoebox. The altar needs to contain pictures of the "deceased" as well as pictures and/or items that the person likes and/or that are important to them and their memory. They will also need to include decorations traditional to the Dia de los Muertos such as paper flowers, and skulls (paper plate skulls).

Using the preterit and imperfect, students will create their own storybook or create a "fractured fairy tale" - different setting, different problem.

Students write a letter telling another person about their school day. It should include the time classes begin, who teaches them, and what they are like.

Spanish 1 creating a story using telling time expressions and previous vocabulary (Paso a Paso)

Students create a monster and label a minimum of 10 different body parts in Spanish. Then, they answer a series of 10 questions in Spanish, the answers to which become an essay.
