Develop a magazine article on a topic of your choice. Write at least a 1 page article using proper grammar, punctuation and spelling. Once you have written the article, then using Photoshop and Illustrator, format the text and add graphics to create a pleasing 2 page (18x12") spread for a magazine. Students will tell the story of their topic both visually and with the written word.

Create a magazine layout for the same product directed at the following target groups: Youth, Family, Professionals

(national standard 3- 2) Students apply subjects, symbols, and ideas in their artworks and use the skills gained to solve problems in daily life. (local standard) Student will use Adobe PhotoShop to design a logo to represent his/her new travel company and design company business cards and letterheads that include his/her logo.

In Adobe Illustrator, develop & design an event poster based on one of the vintage travel poster examples given. Assume a print size of letter (8.5"x11".) This is to be a 4 color process (CMYK) job. The vector art should be similar to the original vintage poster that the student has chosen, yet be creative and original. All headline and body copy from the original design must be used, but students should take the opportunity to rearrange their placement and change colors/fonts and other typographical elements in order to take better advantage of design principles. Students must save the design in the correct file format and place in a new InDesign document, then properly package the document for print production.

Re-Create a magazine spread that replicates your favorite magazine. Choose the publication of your choice. Be sure you select one that showcases all the InDesign elements that have been practiced and applied in class. Pay attention to detail and make the finished product look as professional as possible. Follow all your desktop publishing guidelines using InDesign and Photoshop. The final project must be an Indesign document.

Combine Illustration and typography to create this project. Choose a word and illustrate it, making the word become the actual object. Samples can be seen on PBS' tv show 'Word World'.
