The final product that will be due is a scrapbook that will encompass everything learned throughout the fractions unit. Included in this scrapbook will be multiple pictures the students will take displaying fractions in their everyday life. Also the students will be required to complete summaries and short paragraphs for each of the pictures to demonstrate their knowledge of how everyday life relates back to fractions.

Create one of the following, using your knowledge of Space, Geometric shapes, lines, angles, planes, points, rays, fractions, area and perimeter: -- A basic board game (not creating your own rules and game), e.g. reflects shapes and angles, such as in checkers, snakes and ladders, backgammon and chess. - Design of a garden - Model of a new playground - Design a house/model of a house This task may be completed in pairs. It needs to reflect as much information as possible about Space and Geometry areas learned An explanation needs to be provided by the end of the product to reflect the reasons for your design and creation. You need to have a summary of the mathematics that are involved. We will be completing a gallery walk or watching your pairs video at the end of the 3 sessions. You must be able to explain the math and terms that reflect your understanding of Measurement and Geometry.

Students will demonstrate their knowledge of ordering fractions and decimals using fractions/decimals on a number line and in a pictorial model. Students will justify their answers by writing a letter to their teacher.

Students will demonstrate their knowlegde of converting improper fractions and mixed numbers, comparing and ordering fractions, adding/subtracting them, and simplifying and finding equivalents. This will take about 6 days to complete. On day 6, students will read their poems to the class in a "coffee shop" fashion.
