Creating a rubric for intellectually disabled students' participation in high school involves considering their unique needs and abilities. Remember to adapt the rubric based on individual needs and consult with special education professionals to ensure it aligns with the specific abilities and challenges of students in your high school class.

The Community Program

A student can earn from 0-10 points per class, based on his/her behavior during class. A student's Daily Participation/Behavior Grade is contingent upon how the student chooses to contribute to in-class lectures, discussions, and the overall classroom environment. This daily grade was engineered to ensure that each student is receiving the most out of his/her time in English III Honors, while also enabling parents/guardians to remain informed of their student's behavior in the classroom.

To help high school staff understand the limitations that some Special Education students have, and help them set up modifications that would serve both the teacher and the student. Some students trying their best will struggle to obtain the poor level and high school staff will be alerted to these students. Some students may achieve beyond the best category because it is something they have a personal interest in.

This rubric will provide specific criteria for what a pass or fail grede means and give a numerical standing for any special education course using pass/fail as a grade.
