Directions: 1. Read the whole story silently to yourself. As you read the story, write an R next to parts of the story that remind you of something that happened in your life. You may use a pencil, pen, colored pencil, or crayon to write your R. 2. In the column WHAT THE STORY IS ABOUT, write a short summary of the story telling what happened in the beginning, middle, and the end. Be sure to use the characters names. 3. Students will create an individual script about what they did with their family/ friends during a camping trip/ trip to the beach. It must include vocabulary from Unit 1, the preterite, imperfect, & additional vocabulary/ grammar learned in Spanish 1, & 2. The presentation needs to include:Power Point, or Prezi. The length should be enough for a 5 minute live presentation in class. Script rough drafts are due 11/03/14, final draft is due 11/05/14, & the presentation will be due 11/20/14.

Character Trait Analysis
Write a five paragraph analysis of a character from your independent novel you are reading. The introduction needs to capture the readers attention and make them want to read the rest of your analysis. Give a brief overview of the story and how your character fits into the story. In the body you need to show how the character is identified and what his/her traits are in the beginning of the story using examples and textual evidence to prove your analysis. In the next paragraph you must show how the character changes and is portrayed in the middle of the story using examples and textual evidence. The next paragraph will show how the character has evolved and has changed in the end of the story by using examples and textual evidence. In the conclusion show what you have learned from this character.

Spanish Children's Book -- erase una vez...
The students are to create a children's book using the story kit iPad application. The story must be in Spanish using the preterit , pero y sino, "hace",negative expressions,possessive pronouns,reflexive verbs as well as vocabulary I and II. You can choose a fiction character or your own family ( you must have at least 3 characters/heroes for the story). Tell us the daily routine of the family for the 7 days of the past week. The book will have 7 pages with illustration each and a cover page with the title.Each page will consist of an illustration and 3 sentences. The book will be presented and you narrate to us the story WITHOUT READING por favor! Be creative, you can create adventures, dramas and make it suspenseful. Remember your book should entice little one to read.

Dream House Project
Students will use measurements to create a blueprint of their dream home. They'll keep track of measurements by completing a Dimensions/Area chart. They will then make a 2D blueprint of the house including everything they could ever want in a house. They will write about the process of completing the project. They will complete the project by presenting their dream home to the class.

Students will design a house in RoomSketcher.com A series of learning activities leading to the skills for designing the floor plan of a house using computer simulation programs. The assignment begins with drawing your family house floorplan, to modeling that on the computer, to sketching a desired dream house floorplan to modeling it on the computer.

La Casa de Mis Sueños
Create a visual floor plan presentation of your Dream House .You will have to draw, make a PowerPoint presentation, or make a movie. Your house must contain cocina, baño, comedor, sala, recámaras, lavadero, patio y garaje and labeled in Spanish. You will have to draw or paste pictures of different pieces of furniture or objects found in each room. Vocabulary You must include Vocabulary from Chapter 8, write 5 sentences in Spanish describing each room of your dream house, include at least 5 directions 5 descriptions, name and label items afuera (outside), include the following verbs: Ser, Estar, Tener, Poner, Hacer, Vivir, and Preferir include the word Hay(there is) and Ordinal Numbers (primero, segundo...) Description of presentation You must be ready to present to the classroom. You will speak in Spanish a minimum of two minutes by memory to describe your dream home. If you are making a video it must contain a tour of your dream house, narrated by you in Spanish.

Spanish Country Travel Brochure Rubric
You are a travel agent for a Spanish country. You are to create a travel brochure to attract travelers to that country. You will research the internet and use your imagination. This brochure should be colorful, creative and written to entice travelers to visit your country. Refer to the handout for the specifics to include in your brochure. You must also include the name, address, phone/website of your travel agency.
