You will write an essay answering the following prompt: Do you see anything in these two stories from history (video and articles) that could be a reflection of our society today? Explain.

After reading various scenes from Romeo and Juliet, re-write a scene of your choice using your own words and create an accompanying visual interpretation.

Students will use the writing process to write an original poem, 10-12 lines, with a clearly defined theme, using a variety of poetic techniques. ***MUST BE ORIGINAL WORK. IF THE POEM IS PLAGIARIZED AND COPIED FROM ANOTHER SOURCE, STUDENT WILL RECEIVE A FAILING GRADE***

Students will create an original short story, be creative the story can be about anything (keep it appropriate). The story must have 2 main characters, a definite beginning, middle, and end, and your story must have a clear theme and clear conflict. Keep your short stories short and to the point (1 1/2 to 2 pages).

This rubric will be used to assess and score a 5 paragraph literary analysis essay.

• Your book report should be creative and neat. • The final project TYPE will be your choice. Each project MUST INCLUDE the following items in some form: • A “cover page” with your name, the title of the book, the author’s name, and a reader’s review (YOURS!) of the book, rating it from 1 (really bad) to 10 (LOVED it!). • Illustrations representing the book, either drawn or copied and printed, are included. • Some format representing the main characters, minor characters, main plot line, major conflict and resolution, and settings. • Proper mechanics--NO spelling or grammatical errors; grade-level effort is shown in writing and illustrations. • Project is chosen from acceptable types and is NOT a duplicate of yours OR another student’s in type or content.

Create a diorama for your chosen scene. A diorama is a miniature scene in a box. With your created diorama, you will submit you diorama sketch, list of materials, and scene explanation.

Students will collaborate in creating and performing their chosen Shakespeare.

Students will create posters representing 2 of the 3 death scenes presented.

Students will compose a horror story or scary story. In this story, students will demonstrate their ability to drive a plot and build suspense using literary devices, as well as strong character development.

Students are to write an essay using two songs of their choice and use them as poems. They were to compare and contrast the two poems for the author's themes/meanings, author's tone, and sensory imagery.

This rubric assesses students' proficiency in writing a short story based on the topic of their choosing. Students final draft should be typed in Times New Roman, 12 font, double spaced. Length: 2-3 pages.

Students will complete a creative project based on The Tragedy of Macbeth, by William Shakespeare.
