A rubric that evaluates the artistic process and researched information for an acrylic painting. It measures the various phases, research applications, and approaches necessary for style interpretation into the assessment of an acrylic painting project.

Student demonstrated understanding of how value creates change.The drawing techniques are used to create value and depth. This is an assignment to teach the student the power of shading values, by drawing two dimensional shapes into three dimensional shaded forms, while adding color, distortion, line, and bold emphasis to change the same image

Based on the course grading and methods of evaluation as outlined in the IVA 1002 Intro to Drawing course outline.

Rubric to guide assessment in Studio Art projects

Create a Self Portrait painting using 5-7 personal symbols. Use blending techniques using acrylic paint.

Rubric used when students are working in collaborative groups. The rubric outlines the expectations for the collaborative group work and may be used in conjunction with other project rubrics to evaluate group dynamics.

Rubric for evaluating participation in a class discussion. All students are expected to participate; some students may be uncomfortable due to shyness and/or a learning style that makes immediate or public responses difficult for them. Alternative ways to earn participation credits may still be determined by a student showing their engagement with the topic or class material. Recitation, small-group dynamics, and guided/ directed inquiries may also be used for class discussions.

Use this rubric for grading college Art History papers. Can be customized for any subject.

Students will draw from life and apply drawing and shading techniques they have learned to render a final drawing that illustrates their understanding of drawing concepts we have studied in class.
