The first paragraph should include the title, author of the book, the genre, and a complete description of the main characters. Descriptive settings, a plot summary, and main events should be included. Why did you like or dislike the book? Would you recommend this book to others?

Oral Presentation Rubric

This rubric is meant to help guide in the creation of your Google Slide presentation project. Each category in the far left column represents a component of the project that will be taken into consideration when calculating the final grade for this assignment. Review the rubric carefully before, during and after the creation of the Google Slide presentation, to ensure that all intended elements of your Google Slide have been represented and all other criteria have been met.

The purpose of this rubric is to allow students to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay. The student will compare and contrast the book The Cay to the movie of the same name. In preparation for this assignment, the student will have had instruction in the writing process, sentence structure, capitalization, end marks, read the book and viewed the movie.

Students will create a comic strip or graphic novel page about a favorite or exciting part the assigned novel.

Students can write a creative 3-10 page short story that demonstrates their understanding of the stages of plot and the characteristics of a short story.

Students will write a song/rap that incorporates the process of change in Europe from the fall of the Roman Empire to the rise of Feudalism. They will create their own lyrics music. It must be a song/rap, complete with lyrics, original music and performance.

This rubric is for a U.S. History research project based on immigration, comprised of a presentation given by groups of 4-5 students; each group is responsible for creating a presentation and a note sheet for the class that provides information about their assigned section.
