The purpose of this rubric is to allow the student to know what the expectations are for writing a comparing/contrasting essay.

After reading about epic heroes and learning about the hero's journey, students are to create their own epic hero. They are to apply their knowledge of the hero's journey to their hero.

Students have selected one of the sonnet types below and have written an original sonnet based on that structure (Shakespearean). They are expected to employ, manipulate, and recite various poetic devices with mastery during the presentation of this original sonnet. Please use the rubric below and grade them accordingly.

You should incorporate the parts of a PW piece, persuasive techniques, and persuasive language in your writing. Use the examples and guidelines we discussed. The steps to persuasive writing should be followed.
