the criteria below rates contributions to the process of dance and leads to it's outcome.

Students will work in groups to develop a well choreographed dance. Students will choose their style of dance. The choreography must portray the style accurately and use at least 10 or more choreographic elements. Dance length minimum is 2 minutes. All dances should have a clear beginning and ending and show use of choreographic tools learned throughout the semester.

Initial Composition Study with one dance composer and several dancers.

Class warm-up (either set or student/teacher lead).

DANCE PERFORMANCE RUBRIC For HS Dance 1 Semester 1 Exam

Students are required to create their own dances, in groups no larger than four students. Dance routines are required to be 32 counts in duration to music provided by instructor. Dance moves learned in class as well as your own are encouraged to be incorporated in your dance routines. At least three different steps must be used. There must also be a variety of upper and lower body movements. Phrases and motifs must be clear within the composition.
