Students will create an 8 measure composition using the music notation program Note Flight. They will write it in both treble and bass clefs using specified notes from the piece "Korean Folk Rhapsody."

Beginning Band Students will use common rhythms and simple melodic gestures to compose a 16 measure composition in 4/4 time. Students will have numerous class periods to complete the assignment. It will be notated using Note Flight. Students will also turn in a self reflection describing the cognitive process they used in developing their composition. Students must be able to perform the composition on their band instrument.

Students will create an 8 measure composition based on the first 4 letters of their name, using the music notation program Note Flight. They will write it in either treble or bass clefs based on their comfort with the clefs.

This is a rubric for middle level band students, It is intended to help them understand how they are graded on performances.
