Rubric for Symmetry Art Project

Student will create a design that demonstrates requested elements of art (line, shape, color, space, form, space , and/or texture). The design demonstrates an understanding of the elements of art. Various media are used to practice skills. Students incorporate symbols and elements that reflect their personality and interests.

Objective:Construct arrays and write matching multiplication equations to develop a deeper understanding of multiplication and factors. Arrays should depict a city skyline in which building's windows represent equal groups of objects aligned in rows and columns (an array). Array city should depict the factor pairs of a product. Standards: CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.A.1Interpret products of whole numbers. CCSS.MATH.CONTENT.3.OA.A.2Interpret whole-number quotients of whole numbers.

Students will be asked to read a passage, then make up a Native American name by selecting an animal or part of nature that reflects their personality, students will create a symbol for their name. Students will write a short reflection to discuss why they selected that name.

Create a song, rap, poem, poster or skit that tells/gives examples of the 4 types of sentences.
