To create a visual demonstration of your daily and weekly routine – what you do from the moment you wake up, until you go back to bed. Please also do a brief introduction of yourself and your family.

This rubric is designed for a Chinese end-of-six-weeks' project presentation in which students will be presenting a skit in Chinese. The skit will need to use vocabularies we learned in sports, daily routine, and grammar points covered this six weeks, and in addition to any previous knowledge from 1A.

Create a skit ordering food in a restaurant

The students will perform a 3 minutes skit of their own topic to summary what they learned this past year. The skit will have to be video taped and turn it in at the end of semester for a final grade.

Students will write a self introduction paper on themselves

Write up a personal calendar for the upcoming month that includes daily routine, important dates (birthday, school events), and appointments.

Students are to interview another student about their introduce three hobbies in front of class.

Students will write a paper on the topic of family using the vocab. and sentences we have learned in class. Students will do a oral presentation using the slides.

Create a song/rap in Chinese about sickness, hobbies, weather and self-identity

You are a weather reporter for a TV station. Today you are on an assignment to a city that is experiencing some interesting weather patterns. You will do a 7 day weather forecast that describes these weather patterns. You will suggest at least one activity to do and what clothing to wear on one of the days.

Students will interview their friend about their hobbies. The interview should contain at least 7 questions and last one minute and half. Students need to use at least 10 vocabularies we learned in this unit.

Create a comic strip that has 4 frames that contains 4 conversations or 8 complete sentences.

Students develop a diabetes awareness PSA in a interdisciplinary approach learned in classes and create a public service announcement following a script from 10th grade Medical English class. In the PSA students are to raise awareness for the law by briefly describing the issue, and providing relevant and accurate facts, and finally encouraging viewers to take positive action concerning the issue. They will refer to or exhibit charts and graphs to back up their announcement with clear data.

Rubric for short writing assignment for Chinese class

Students will research facts about their favorite hobby or interest. They will organize their information using visual mapping software such as Inspiration or Mindomo (Creaza). They will acquire images, video, and audio. They will create a PowerPoint presentation. They will upload their PowerPoint presentation to Slideshare or Prezi.
