Select a significant character from Animal Farm. One front of sheet (8.5x11), students create a visual symbolic collage of the character's role in the book/allegory. Write a Personal Narrative Essay about an important,life-changing event from your life. Describe your memorable event in chronological order. Use the literary element flashback as an introduction technique. Include reactions in your personal narrative such as dialogue and emotions. Include a reflection in your essay on what you learned from this experience. Your personal narrative should be a five paragraph essay with an introduction, three body paragraphs, and a conclusion.

Plan: This rubric is designed to evaluate a semester short story piece that students create for a multi-grade high school (10, 11, 12) Creative Writing class. Students are expected to meet requirements that exemplify the skills learned in class to create a compelling and well-organized fictional narrative. The rubric is in regards to MLA written English, as well as respecting privacy and copyright law. You will receive up to 4 points for a creative title.

I will use this rubric to help me determine a group assessment/grade for the debate. If one member of the group fails to cooperate, it is possible for me to do an individual assessment on this rubric for that one student. Otherwise, every member of the group will receive the same team grade.

Write a persuasive argument about an endangered animal issues. The persuasive essay must contain 2 fully developed supporting paragraphs . You should incorporate the parts of a PW piece, persuasive techniques, and persuasive language in your writing.

Students will research, plan, and compose an informative speech in which their performance will be evaluated in terms of specific standards, including the clarity and completeness of your speech and the quality of your presentation in explaining your topic matter. Non-verbal communication is highlighted. Students will have 3 to 4 minutes to deliver the speech. Any over that time will result in points being deducted.

Students will write a professional business query letter to a publishing company enclosing a story submission.

Using all the skills we have studies so far this year, you are to write a 1,200 word (minimum) personal narrative. Your personal narrative must be about you and tell a story about some event or lesson that has impacted you in either a negative or positive way.
