The student will create a drawing using similar techniques of an artist of their choice from the impressionism, post-impressionism, or cubism time period. While researching the artist the student must acknowledge how the artist’s culture influenced their work. The drawing must involve something that represents the student's culture. During critique each student must use proper vocabulary and present their work while discussing the artist they chose.

The landscape will include a lightsource on the left which will create shadowing on the right side of the trees and make a shadow on the grass on the right side of the trees. Students will use more than one color in drawing to show depth . Students will have a critique within their group that will allow for revision.

Journal entries MUST be complete and organized. If you are absent, write the word "absent" across the page for the date you missed. You will need to make-up that entry with a partner on your own time. If your journal is missing/late 2 pts. (see scoring) will be deducted for each missing day. No exceptions. You will still need to complete your journal on a sheet of paper and staple it into journal. If you lose your journal, you are responsible for replacing it.
