MLR A2 Notation and Terminology: Students identify and read musical notation, symbols, and terminology. Students will demonstrate their understanding of the 4/4 time signature, quarter note, quarter rest, eighth notes (sets of 2), steady beat, barline, double barline, measure and repeat sign. Students will answer questions in regard to the vocabulary and demonstrate steady beat and rhythm using snare drum techniques.

Musical performance grading rubrics for Singing

Students will use incredibox to create a song that is in Rondo From. Project must contain at least one beat, one effect, one melody, and one voice.

Using Power Point, create a presentation about one of the following musical eras (Renaissance, Baroque, Classical, Romantic, 20th Century).

Understanding music in relation to history and culture.

Understanding relationships between music, the other arts, and disciplines outside the arts.

Create a music video (using iMovie, MovieMaker or Photostory) to include outside visuals and transitions demonstrating their knowledge of the one of the subjects studied in Earth Science. Work with your DGroup on this project.

Students (small group of three people) will research a topic in music history and/or composer(s). (Era; composer from Era). Research will be developed into a presentation project of their choice. They may use computers, video, audio, posters, etc. for their project presentation.
