The student will create a three-dimensional sphere from two dimensional form by integrating shaded values.

Students will create a zentangle pattern sheet that should contain a minimum of 8 patterns

Students will create a watercolor landscape painting which contains a creek running towards the foreground with other natural elements present in the background. Students will create a foreground, middle ground, and background using watercolor techniques. This unit will help students examine the history of landscape paintings in light of current ecological concerns.

Students will create a 10 space value scale and use TEMPERA PAINT to effectively demonstrate how to create a monochromatic value scale progressively moving from dark to light. Out of 10 spaces, students must create 8 clearly defined values.

Rubric to assess the understanding of how a student is able to use compositional elements and perspective to create a landscape drawing.

Using a digital photo of your self, grid the photo in a one inch grid. Then create a two inch grid on your illustration board to transfer your drawing to. After transferring your drawing using the grid, use two different mediums and color/shade your drawing. You will be graded on if you incorporate your own personal artistic style, use composition and design, craftsmanship, and effort.
