Student must design a seven day meal plan for themselves that consists of nutritious and fresh natural unprocessed foods, that will include one meal they will prepare FROM SCRATCH (so no hamburger helper or frozen family dinners) for themselves and their family. Student will write a 300 word summary of their meal plan and experience and give a 5-8 minute presentation on their meal plan in class using Power Point.

Students are asked to pair up in class and create a sketch that combines two ideas from both students sketches to create a tattoo “sleeve”.

Students are given a homework assignment where they are to create one drawing in any of the tattoo “styles” for each of the following 5 themes: Celtic, symbols, floral, wildlife and fantasy after doing some image research (find reference pictures).

Students will have designated sketchbook time in class. Students will include bellwork and notes in their sketchbooks. Sketchbook entries may need to be completed outside of class.

The student will create a short clip using Stop Motion techniques. That movie will be eligible to participate in the Stop Motion Awards 3 ceremony where some judges will choose the best videos. Stop motion (also known as stop frame) is an animation technique to make a physically manipulated object appear to move on its own. The object is moved in small increments between individually photographed frames, creating the illusion of movement when the series of frames is played as a continuous sequence. Dolls with movable joints or clay figures are often used in stop motion for their ease of repositioning. Stop motion animation using plasticine is called clay animation or "clay mation" and there are some other techniques.

Using line and shape, create areas of positive space (area filled in with Zentangle patterns) and areas of negative space (black areas).

Students create an acrylic pop art painting in the style of pop artist, Andy Warhol.

To learn how to problem-solve and build within constraints. You will be building a name sculpture of your choice out of cardboard.
