Oral Presentation Rubric

Students will research, plan, and compose a speech in which their speech will be evaluated in terms of specific standards set in class, including the clarity and completeness of the speech

Standards for this rubric comes from Texas Career and College Readiness Standards, New TSIA2 Assessment, and ACT College Readiness Standards. Total Score divided by 5 for approximated TSIA 2 score. Based a Rubric Created by another iRubric user.

Students will compare/contrast Jefferson's Declaration of Independence to Johnson's "A Soldier for the Crown".

Students will construct a Metric System Units focusing on: identifying and describing metric units, giving examples of basic metric units, sketching instruments use to take metric measurements, and any other additional information related to metric units.

Students are to take a position and defend/support that position with research that includes outside sources. The paper must be 6 or more paragraphs. The organization is: Introduction, Pro Reason 1, Pro Reason 2, Pro Reason 3, and Counterclaim Reason with Rebuttal, and Conclusion. Signal Phrases and transitions must be used. In-text citations from research sources and a Works Cited Page must be included as well.

Research Paper: these are the basic requirements for the 7-10 page research paper on a literary text of the author's choosing. It must be evaluative (takes a position). This is not a report; so it is not a summary. Summary may be used as part of evidence, but the purpose of this research paper is to synthesize. 80 points = 100%

The project will consist of your EOC interactive study guide and a 5 paragraph essay that explains why you chose your EOC topic as well as the process you went through and the formatting choices you made to create your study guide.
